Late in the summer of 1974, I decided to learn to play fiddle after hearing Vassar Clements and Norman Blake at "The Main Point" in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. In July, I had attended the Brandywine Mountain Music Convention. That first year they had an old-time fiddle and banjo contest and the Highwoods Stringband. I ended up going 17 years in a row. That got the tunes ringing in my ears.

These days I still like the old-time sound and play for the enjoyment that it provides. But you learn to play the instrument along with the style and that can lead you to play other styles on the instrument. I love to improvise and jam with singers and other instrumentalists. I have appeared in over a dozen theatrical productions too.

Navigate through the links on the left frame. I just added a crop of videos!
I plan to add more mp3s and transcriptions this year.
